Communities will only ever thrive if the people that reside in them treat one another with the kindness and respect that all human beings deserve.
It’s been this empathetic view of our local community in Illinois that propels the Lights of Zion Training Institute ever forward with its plans to improve the academic and technical prospects of individuals in the area. We endeavor to shape the hearts and minds of youth and adults through our comprehensive training initiatives. Read on to discover what we’re all about.
The Lights of Zion is a a faith-based 501c3 organization since incorporated in 1982, with the formal induction of our Lights of Zion Training Institute in 2007. LOZTI serves the Chicago, IL, area and its surrounding communities. We employ certified and competent staff to perform services provided to our training participants.
LOZTI has touched thousands of lives within our community outreach services and programs. We saw the need for these services after the tragic death of one of our young musicians, and we sought to provide affordable and certified training to combat the violence and poverty running rampant. With the help of our community partners and a few government-funded programs, we have been able to alter the course of many lives.
Lights of Zion Training Institute’s ongoing mission is to provide individuals with the skills and certification they need for a successful career, allowing them to become contributing and economically independent members of their communities.
We aim to provide both youth and adults with the necessary academic and technical skills for entry-level jobs and offer residents of all ages the option to pursue a wide range of career choices. We want to ensure that workers have the foundation for lifelong learning that will allow them to enhance their existing skills and learn new skills in response to the current and future demands of a rapidly changing workplace.
We’ll always assist individuals in becoming productive citizens and workers, as well as supply employers with validation of skills through national certifications and licenses.
The philosophy driving our program is the belief that developing marketable skills equips individuals with options and opportunities to succeed at any career they wish to pursue in their lives. Our training programs strive to ensure that each student acquires the specific knowledge and skills needed to secure rewarding employment. Our caring and qualified staff network with local businesses, professional associations, and instructions to develop and conduct workshops and courses that meet their specific requirements.
